Okouchi Forest Park

大河内森林公園

Quiet village-run forest park campground at about 900 m among conifers in Tenryu village, southern Nagano, cool even in summer. Nine auto sites of about 10×10 m and a free tent area (currently limited to 5 tents a day), with a cooking hut, flush toilets, a water park and walking paths; the village onsen 'Okiyome no Yu' is 10 min by car.

Facilities

Good to know

Ground fires banned; take all garbage home. A fishing licence is needed to fish in the river. Fees are collected on site by the caretaker; overnight guests receive a discount ticket for the Okiyome no Yu onsen.

Access

About 1 h from Iida-Yamamoto IC (Chuo Expressway) via Route 151; about 2 h from Toyokawa IC (Tomei) via Route 151. Address: Kaminohara 4592, Tenryu village, Shimoina-gun, Nagano. Parking on site.
