WASAMATA HUTTE

A camp and mountain hut at 1,150 m in the Omine range, Nara, also used as a trailhead for Mt. Daifugen. Lodge, cabins and tent sites are available. Camping sites include auto, big and view sites; vehicle sleeping is banned.

Good to know

Car sleeping is not allowed. Take garbage home; burnable waste can be taken for a fee (45 L bag). A bear-safety notice was issued in July 2026.

Access

15.5 km (about 25 min) from Kamikitayama village office. In December-March roads may freeze: studless tyres plus chains required. By public transport: Yamato-Yagi Station by bus about 2 h to Wasamata-yamaguchi stop, then about 1 h 20 on foot (buses run late April to late November).
