Echigo-Tsumari Matsunoyama Onsen Snow Park

越後妻有松之山温泉スノーパーク

Winter-only snow campground opened in 2021 on the edge of the Matsunoyama Onsen ski area in Tokamachi, Niigata, one of the snowiest places in the world (2-4 m of heavy wet snow). A snow free site for 30 groups, groomed by snowcat where possible, with a restaurant and rental shop on site and the Matsunoyama Onsen hot-spring town 5 minutes away.

Good to know

Come with a 4WD vehicle on studless winter tyres; carpool where possible. Site closes if a heavy-snow advisory or warning is issued the day before. Pitches are first come first served after check-in; no entering the site before check-in. Loading car park is 50-100 m from the site up a steep slope.
